Employment Law for US Executives
The US executive who takes on responsibility for UK operations faces an employment law environment that differs radically from the USA.
Although the US and UK are both ‘common law’ jurisdictions, employment law has developed quite differently in the UK - in great part as a result of our EU membership.
Without the background knowledge of the UK employment law environment, the US executive is often faced with a baffling series of panic reactions from UK-based managers when directing terminations of employment or other organisational changes affecting employees.
This half-day briefing session for the US executive is designed to give a clear overview of all the liabilities that are associated with employing staff in the UK and terminating their employment. The course is delivered by Christopher Head, Director of Irenicon, a qualified lawyer, with training, advisory and litigation experience, to bring a highly practical and clear focus to a wide-ranging and financially highly significant subject.
